Hi there! Welcome to jQuery basics part 2!.
The first jQuery basics covered selectors, and a bunch of jQuery object methods that modified selectors, created new selections, and modified the elements inside the selection in some way.
While this stuff is not terribly exciting, it is the necessary ground work you need to make awesome things.
An important thing to know about jQuery is what
$ means, and how it is different from a jQuery object.
$ is just a shortcut for writing
jQuery, and is a function that accepts a number of different things and returns a jQuery object.
$ and a jQuery object
$() being the simplest one, have different attributes and methods.
