9/14 - Incomplete Lessons?
First off I want to say that this site is great and the lessons are helping a lot. But I do have a question: Why do these jquery lessons leave out what I would consider vital information? For example. In this lesson (9/14) there is no mention made of CSS at all. Yet if you check the CSS you will find that it contains all of the information needed to change the background color and the text color of the selected list item.
My question is: Why is no information provided on this subject? Wouldn’t it be prudent to mention that the CSS must be modified as well for this to work properly? Maybe have students change the color (or add the CSS)? For this to all work together, obviously the CSS and jQuery must work together, yet no explanation for “.ui-selected” (the CSS) is provided. Does the jQuery function add that id to the selected list item or something? Why is this not talked about?

The courses here are written by different authors, not CC. They are only curated here. CC is working with their engineers and content managers with feedback from the moderators (volunteers, not staff) to upgrade the course material. It is being addressed, but it is a slow process. Watch for new interfaces and learning models to appear in the near future.
