Dumd question... Why is it meal + meal?
Hi guys,
I finished the exercises without any issues but I don’t understand why it’s meal + meal?
meal = 44.50 tax = 0.0675 tip = 0.15
meal = meal + meal * tax total = meal + meal * tip
so this would mean mean = 44.50 + 44.50 * 0.0675

It is meal plus meal because its adding a percentage to something. For example when they add a 10 percent mark up to a par of pants the add the pants to 10 percent of the pants. this would be represented as pants + pants * .10.
I hope that helps.

Ooooooooooooooooh you exaplained it well, thanks. I was never good at math in school lol… thanks!
Thanks, I was wondering the same thing. I feel that they should explain that in the lesson
Well I have tried copying it directly from the top posting and it will not work.
In math it would look like: meal = meal + (meal * tax)
omg thanks for this it’s been bugging me for 2 days and I remembered that there is a forum questions available here.
I think they should include this to the explanation.
