Product Designer
We're looking for skilled product designers to identify and translate user needs into intuitive, polished interfaces. The ideal candidate is able to execute across all stages of the design process—planning for flows and screens, visual design, and building out work with HTML/CSS. Frontend Engineer
Codecademy is looking for an engineer that is truly passionate about working in the browser and building web interfaces and tools for teaching the world how to code.
We want someone with mastery of Javscript, CSS, and HTML. You value efficient code and beautiful user experiences. We are most interested in your skills and personality, but a CS background is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Help make product decisions
- Implement UI and UX features
- Build tools and frameworks to simplify development
- Prototype new or experimental features
Requirements:
- Passion for rethinking online education
- Ability to work in areas outside of your usual comfort zone and get things done quickly
- Personal projects that show frontend engineering aptitude and product sense
- Demonstrated proficiency with HTML/CSS/Javascript in a production environment
- Experience with a MVC framework in a production environment
Backend Engineer
Codecademy is looking for a backend engineer that is passionate about building scalable systems and is comfortable working within all parts of the stack. We are most interested in your skills and personality, but a CS background is a plus.
Requirements:
- Mastery of JavaScript and at least two other dynamic programming languages (preferrably including Ruby)
- Experience building at-scale production applications on top of a cloud architecture (preferrably including AWS)
- Familiarity with scaling at least one type of database system to 10,000+ R/W operations per second.
Desirable:
- Experience using Ruby-on-Rails in a production environment
- Experience using HTML/CSS/Javascript/AJAX in a production environment
- Experience building and administering systems related to virtualized development environments, API and recommendation engines
