Exercise 5.3 -- is validation working?

Validation is broken on exercise 5.3 (Fall back!). I've passed the following exercises, so it's not a browser or correctness issue. Validation of only exercise 3 fails in both IE9 and Opera 12.

Please fix.

This worked for me...

h1 {
font-family:Verdana,sans-serif;
color : #576D94;
}

p {
font-family:Garamond,serif;
font-size : 18px;
color : #4A4943;
}

Thanks. Do you have any specific reason to omit spaces when specifying font-family, yet add extra spaces before the colons after font-size and color?

I have previously figured out that the validation of this exercise requires a specific formatting of the answer in regard to spaces, i.e. no space before the colon after font-family, and in some cases no space after a comma.

This is bad, since whitespace isn't meaningful in HTML and CSS. Correct answers were being rejected and there was no way to know what was going wrong. This caused many to post misleading fixes in regard to browser versions, etc.

As a solution, I would advise the author of these exercises to invest some effort in implementing regular expressions in order to fix the code, so that correct solutions are recognized as such.

After the fourth or fifth buggy exercise I switched to Chrome from Firefox. None of the suggestions for 5.3 worked, and I don't know if I should jump back to Firefox or just go ahead to 5.4.

Thanks for the info. I have four different browsers on my system, I'm not installing Firefox just for this one point. I think Codecademy should fix the validation so that it works with other browsers than Firefox.

are you using any browser add ons, like noscripts or ghostery?

No, I am not. Please understand that the problem is not on my end. I could easily pass exercise 5.4 for example, which uses the same CSS with just one extra section added.
