Under the settings tab in Twitter change application type to "Read and Write". Go back to the details tab and click "recreate my access token."

What do you mean? Which exercise are you having problems with? Each exercise is kinda confusing.

cant seem to get this one working.

getting a 401 response - OAuth set to read and write and code reset, access token at read-only, and I cant seem to change this anywhere on twitter...?

try going to 'reset keys' tab and resetting, then go back to the details tab and make sure consumer and access keys are different and both say read/write
