I can't submit my code. Nothing happens when I submit it. Is there any one else with the same issue.
Am using Google Chrome.

Now I update the answer for the new design:
- Write the code to complete your exercise
- Select all (Ctrl + A) your code and copy it (Ctrl + C)
- Click in the Codecademy link icon that is in the left upper corner
- Return to the section of the exercise clicking it
- Paste the code (Ctrl + V)
- Click Save & Submit Code light blue button
This is for the past design (OBSOLETE): I fixed the error with the following steps:
- Refresh the page (press F5)
- Write the code to complete your exercise
- Go to the Result tab to see the PHP result
- When you see the PHP result in the Result tab, click the “Submit” button

I’ve tried refreshing re-installing and everything that I can do… Sadly no hope… Is there anything to install or enable before starting PHP ? I am totally new to this coding field…

It should just work ‘out the box’ as such…i was having the same issue but F5 before each exercise seemed to work for me.

Hey everyone,
This is related to some server side load we’ve been experiencing at Codecademy. Usually waiting a few minutes and hitting refresh helps. We’ll update you once the situation has been fixed, but unfortunately this will take a little time!

Thanks for the efforts, please update by e-mail if possible it will be splendid! and thanks again for a great website!
One month later, there are still major issues with using PHP and getting it to run on a basic level.
Thanks
have you sorted that out yet?
it has been a year and the server problem still occurs. Im outta this place Java dont work, PHP dont work.
1 year later….

This problem was first raised on the forums 2 months ago. It still hasn’t been corrected.
Perhaps it’s not a fixable problem. If this is the case, could you please close down the courses until the problems are fixed?
Otherwise, let us know which courses work so we don’t waste our time with these broken ones.
If you need money to cover the cost of fixing your server, place a donate button somewhere. I’d happily pay for decent service.

I wish they had just removed the course instead of wasting my time on it before I found this forum.

Refreshing the exercise seems to fix the issue - a pain, but it’s a work around.

I’ll try that, thank you.

For the new layout design:
- Refresh the page (press F5)
- Write the code
- Click View Preview
- Click Back to editor
- Click Save and Submit Code
(kind of like the obsoleted method)
BTW, please fix it ASAP. (It’s a pain to see problems laying around after new stuff launched.) Thanks.

WorkAround
just copy your code, and hit refresh, then paste it back and hit submit. it works for me. it seems like if you leave the page open for a while the submit button stops working. but if you hit submit after the page loads it works
Answer 51459cbf8981eda8c9003fe0
What I do is hit the “Submit” button several times really fast and then it passes.
Answer 51485efbc2c10ccd5b00400b
Still waiting on a fix for this. The Submit button still does absolutely nothing even after refreshing and switching back to the old UI.

it looks like they auto passed me for the first excercise (i don’t think i ever got a well done message). The second one worked like a charm.

I am having the same issue. I tried refreshing and I waited for like 20 minutes. I used Firefox 20, Chrome 25, and Internet Explorer 10. I am running Windows 7. Fix this problem please.

hey guys, if your just interested in learning it what you have to do is once you are done with the code click save and submit. if you made an error then it will tell you right away, if you didnt then it will show that it is loading. when that happens then you know that you are right and you can manually go to the next lesson on the top left. it shows that you arnt very far through it but if its just for learning purposes then its not that big of a deal.
Answer 538d0d219c4e9d52f8000754
For me, it was because I was finishing the code and submitting too fast. I tried to wait a few seconds after completing the code so that it had a chance to show up in the compiler. Once it did, I submitted the code and it worked.

Oh I forgot to mention that it worked under the new UI and not the old one.

Sometimes I had to refresh the page and just continue, but other than that, it worked fine for me.

It just loads and loads every time I submit code. I can’t get past the first introduction because nothing happens. I’ve tried reloading hundreds of times.
Answer 53f1fed6548c357a69001e42
I sit with that constant loading circle in the middle of the coding platforms, i can enter code but the save and submit button does not work
Answer 514d04544b8fafd5860000d5
This might be a work around, but I was having the same problem in Firefox 19.0.2 and Chrome v.25. But it works for me in IE9.

”My first line of PHP!”
This worked for me as well, upvote for some visibility.
so i eliminate the ; mark? I saw the hint is
I have the same problem (Safari Version 5.1.7)
same problem in chrome.
tried everything listed here but i still cant submit my answers
does not work
it works, but takes about between 6 and 7 hours to submit.
other way is pass to the fourth point and submit, and then back to the third point, make the exercice and submit, at least it works for me but you can try.
try ctrl+f5
Same with me! I love the new design, but that submit button just sucks! I get stuck .
I have updated the answer for the new design and backup the obsolete solution.
Same problem
Same problem[2]
It is very bad and annoying. I can’t stand to learn this way. Always it doesn’t work.
me too, when i click submit it just sits there forever
I have this same problem in Firefox, but none of the suggested solutions worked. I tried using Safari instead though, and now the lessons load normally and the Save and Submit button works fine.

The solution above didn’t work. It appears that the problem is with Google Chrome, for it works fine in an older Firefox browser.
It doesn’t work for me in chrome or safari. It is ironic that a website on how to code won’t work.
At last I find that others are experiencing this. No problems at all for weeks, than all of sudden, not accepting my submit anymore, white wheel keepts on turning, all the time ! came back at least 12 times in the last days, all prepared to study, and am forced to give up in the moment because of this. Windows 7, tried with chrome, firefox, AND IE all updated tried PHP AND RUBY courses, doing the same, tried emptying browsers, changing account… nothing works, thank you very much Codeacademy for everyhting but please let us continue ! cheers, warm regards to all !Leo
Works in IE11 for me (Failing in Chrome and FF)
I should add it worked for the first lesson but not the second one…bizarre
Since IE showed me a glimmer of hope, I reset it to defaults, which necessitated a reboot, which installed Windows updates :)
Since then it’s been ok in IE and FF.
