selector doesn't have the color #cc0000.

I put in the code:

selector{
color: #cc0000;
text-decoration: none;
}

but it keeps telling me "Oops, try again. Whoops! It looks like your 'a' selector doesn't have the color #cc0000."

How do I get the color?

because your selector is a
so like this:

a {
color: #cc0000;
text-decoration: none;
}

if you see the color change. try resetting editor, refresh page, restart browser or a different browser (and of course, always make sure your browse is up to date)

because in html to make a link you need code like this: codecademy so the selector in css is a {css code} just you have p {css code} for a paragraph tag (). selector is just a placeholder word for some actual selector. do you understand?
