5/15 [resolved] Multiply two numbers.

why I follow the instruction:Multiply 2 really big numbers! Write your expression between the parentheses, like this: document.write( 1 + 1 ),the program remind me:Multiply two numbers. Check out the examples to make sure you are typing in the format '2 * 2'.

Thanks!

Hi Tom,

  • Are you using Opera by any chance? If so, there is a pinned post about that over here: http://www.codecademy.com/forums/animate-your-name/1
  • Are you using the addition or the multiplication symbol in your own code? The example shows you how to do addition but the requirement is a multiplication expression.

Hi AlbionsRefuge:

Thanks for your kindly help! And sorry for my late answer!

As it is my first programming course and without any computing background! I totally do not know how to manage it! So I follow the instruction to input (1+1), actually, it should be (2*2 ), so I finish the whole programming right here right now even though something I do not understand but just follow the instruction!

For me, I am interesting with the programming, but I am not sure I can learn it completely!

Anyway,thanks again for your help!

Keep in touch!

Tom from China

For a first time programmer I can see how the explanation about using + - * / for math and the example given for the exercise could be confusing. If you are interested in programming then I would say that you will definitely be able to learn it. Being interested is great motivator.
