Information Codecademy is asking for isn't provided by Twitter

Codecademy said to place my consumer key, consumer secret, access token, and access secret in the exercise.

But I followed the instructions and what Twitter provides is an API key, API secret, Access level, Owner, Owner ID, App-only authentication, Request token URL, Authorize URL and Access token URL. No consumer key, consumer secret, access token or access secret listed.

It seems odd in a unit specifically devoted to the Twitter API that the terminology that Codecademy and Twitter uses would be so different. Does any of the values provided by Twitter correspond to what Codecademy is asking for?

Yes, you have to check under "API Keys" in the menu.
Guess you asked after only 1 minut seartching...

  • Codeacademy: Consumer key = Twitter: API key
  • Codeacademy: Consumer secret = Twitter: API secret
  • Codeacademy: Access token = Twitter: Access token
  • Codeacademy: Access level = Twitter: API Access token secret
