Help file say's:
Connection timeouts with certain courses

We've heard reports of connection timeouts: preview window disconnecting or the white wheel staying on screen. These are problems that have to do with our server load. The error messages you might see, include:
A white wheel loading indefinitely
Green bar not loading
The editor displaying a disconnect error message
The editor dispalying "The program took to long to finish.." -error message.
The affected courses are some JavaScript and many Ruby, Python and PHP courses. The new interface design isn't related to timeouts.

I found a solution, I hope it will work for everyone, at least, for me it works. I reset the browser cache. After I logged into my account, and instead of taking the 3/7 part where I had the problem, I chose the 4/7 part of the section for while loops. And oddly I've validated my code. I returned after about 3/7 page and I was able to be validated without the problem I have had before.

(Sorry for my bad english, I try to speak clearly)

I am stuck at 29% in the section: For loops in PHP.
I tried to start the next section (While loops in PHP), and I had the same problem before. I'm still stuck at 29% in this new section !!! (I had this message before : "Something went wrong :( click to try again or refresh the page.") and the gear appears...

I also try to clear all the cookies of my browser. Then I log in my account. It's seems to work, but 5 s later i've had the same message ("Something went wrong :(.....").

I am in the same position and it happened with the conditions section as well. Its like it is stuck in a continuous code loop that just keeps on checking my code. I feel that it is all ok but cant be 100%. Has anybody managed to sort this out as yet? Ive cleared all internet settings eg session, cookies etc and started the section again but it has saved all my code and is still frozen. Am using Chrome.

I am also having this problem. Evidently it's not us, it's them. I hope they will fix it soon.

I Sort of found an answer to the freeze problem. I delete all history as if the browser is at default. I then reload the codecademy.com page and it is unfrozen. It does not stop it from happening again in the future as it has happened many times since. Hope this helps someone.

had the same problem here, I resolved it by using the browser's dev mode and deleting the layer that blocks the buttons on the page then used the notepad to write the code and copy/paste it on the browser IDE
