Hi! I’m the Data Science Curriculum Domain Manager here at Codecademy and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the CUNY Graduate Center. I specialize in data literacy and lead the Data Science and Data Analyst Career Paths at Codecademy. I teach data visualization, data analysis, and research methods at CUNY.

My work spans technology, education, linguistics, and urbanism. I’ve worked in research, led data teams, and taught in higher education for over 15 years. I’ve written on digital laughter, online dating, and linguistics for the Harvard Design Magazine, Languages, and Routledge.

I have a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Interactive Technology and Pedagogy from CUNY Graduate Center and a Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Michigan State University. My passion is education and making technical concepts accessible to people from a range of backgrounds.

I live with my wife and son in Brooklyn with views of the Verrazano Bridge.
