Senior Curriculum Developer at Codecademy, specializing in cybersecurity.
Hello friends! I’m a Senior Curriculum Developer here at Codecademy.
I’ve spent much of my professional career teaching Java, Python, and, more recently, cybersecurity. One recent course I’ve worked on is Codecademy’s Introduction to Cybersecurity course.
I’m passionate about education and technology, having worked in computer science education for nearly a decade. Whether it’s creating K-8 computer science content, or teaching introductory Java at Stanford University, I’ve taught students from a variety of backgrounds and ability levels. I’ve also worked as a Curriculum Manager in a previous role, where I learned how to translate content into an online, asynchronous learning environment. In my work, I strive to create accessible and inclusive content.
I have a B.S. in Symbolic Systems with a Human Computer Interaction Concentration from Stanford University. While a lot of my technical knowledge comes from the courses I took in college, I learned how to program in Python from Codecademy!
When I’m not teaching, I’m often making sweets, reading, and listening to my favorite musicals on repeat. Some of my recent sweet endeavors have included learning how to make choux buns, macarons, and homemade ice cream. I’ve discovered that cookie dough ice cream is dangerously easy to make and amazingly delicious to eat.
