The world of work is constantly evolving, and what it takes to have a successful, future-proof career in tech today is very different than even a few years ago.
To help you keep up with the changing tech landscape at every stage of your career, we’ve repackaged (and revitalized) our offerings into two plans: Codecademy Plus and Codecademy Pro. Both plans are designed to help you prepare your skills for the future. Most notably, we’re upgrading our Codecademy Pro features to focus even more on job-readiness, and adding a new tier called Codecademy Plus that’s ideal for growing your skills one step at a time.
Need some guidance choosing a plan? We’ve got you. This map shows you how far you can take your coding journey with each plan, and breaks down the resources you’ll have access to along the way.
Ahead we’ll take a closer look at each plan — and give you a sneak peek of some exciting Pro features coming soon. Even with all this change, don’t worry: We haven’t removed any existing features or resources that you love to use — we’ve just organized them to better fit your individual goals.
Pro
Prepare for a new career
Codecademy Pro is basically like an all-access pass to everything we offer. If you’re hoping to launch a career in tech, Pro provides all the resources you’ll need to learn in-demand skills, discover job opportunities, ace an interview, and land your dream job.
With Pro, you unlock access to our career paths, which get you ready to land an entry-level position. Whether you want to be an iOS Developer, a Front-End Engineer, or a Data Scientist, each path will guide you through the foundational skills you’ll need to do the job from the ground up. You’ll also get to build unique projects you can use in your portfolio when you start applying to jobs, and complete code challenges to practice for your technical interview.
And that’s just the beginning — in the next few weeks, we’ll be adding exciting new features to Pro that’ll help ensure you’re equipped with everything you need to succeed. Keep an eye out for our upgraded career paths, which will include assessments that’ll test your proficiency in specific skills so you can identify areas of improvement. You’ll also be able to earn a new Codecademy Professional Certification after completing all the exams in a career path, so you can showcase your mastery on your resume and LinkedIn profile.
Here’s an example of the Professional Certificate you’ll receive from Codecademy after completing all of the exams in the Full-Stack Engineer career path.
We’ve also been looking for ways to help our community find job opportunities, and soon, you’ll have access to an exclusive job board where you can connect with recruiters and hiring managers from companies that are specifically interested in Codecademy learners. (And if you’re a student, you can get access to Pro features for over 55% off).
Plus
Build your technical skills
Developers are never truly finished learning. Whether you’re a professional Software Engineer or a Marketer, there’s always going to be new languages, technologies, and concepts to pick up. Codecademy Plus comes with over 300 structured training courses, as well as projects and quizzes, so it’s a great option for folks who want to continue honing their technical skills.
Plus gives you unlimited access to our full library of courses, including intermediate and advanced level courses and skill paths with curated content that takes your programming knowledge even further. You can also take quizzes and complete projects that’ll help identify gaps in your knowledge and skills, and show you how to apply coding concepts in real-world contexts.
For example, say you’re a Full-Stack Developer who builds websites with Python and Django, but you’re curious about data science and machine learning. With Plus, you could pick up the basics in Analyze Data with Python or Build a Machine Learning Model with Python. Or maybe you’re a Front-End Engineer who wants to go Full-Stack — you can sign up for Plus to take courses that round out your knowledge. Even people in non-technical roles, like Product Managers or Marketers, can benefit from picking up programming languages or understanding coding concepts
The bottom line: Learning to code has tons of professional benefits, no matter what field you’re in. Codecademy Plus gives you the flexibility to create your own learning roadmap and hand-pick the courses that will help you advance your career.

Learn something new for free
And if you’re not quite sure what you want to do yet, you can still get started with a Basic membership for free! Just create an account and check out our beginner-friendly courses to start writing and running code right away, and get instant feedback that will help you grasp key coding concepts.
If you’re an absolute beginner, we have lots of courses that will help you get your feet wet. In our Learn to Code with Blockly course, for example, you’ll use drag-and-drop blocks to pick up the basics of programming without getting caught up in complicated syntax.
When you’re ready to start learning your first programming language, you can take courses like Choosing a Programming Language and Choosing a Career in Tech to get a sense of where you want to go. From there, you can jump in immediately with beginner-friendly coding courses, like Learn HTML and Learn JavaScript. And all of our courses are self-guided, so you can learn at a pace that makes sense for you (though we do recommend setting a weekly goal) and take breaks along the way.
You can also connect with other members of the Codecademy community online in our forums and Discord — or even in person at your local Chapter meetup. Engaging with our community is a great way to network with all kinds of developers and code enthusiasts who you can turn to for insight and support as you learn to code.
